Unable to remove Featured Products

I have been having issues removing items from the Featured Products section for over a year. I posted in a different thread 06/2024.  The thread appears to be stalled.   I continue to select remove and weeks later they are still there.  There is no issue adding them, I mistakenly added a group and now can't remove them. I am trying to remove all featured items so I can start fresh.

Please help me remove these items.  Thanks!

I accidently added items to "Featured Products" and can't remove them either. I don't like that "Featured Products" shows up in the category drop down menu since I didn't even want to feature them. I'm not even sure what the purpose of "Featured Products" is, we could create our own "Featured Products" section if we wanted one. Personally, I just wish they would delete the whole section.

"Featured products" have had this issue for years uncounted. It's a bug that was never addressed. I'm with you @DesertSky , Z should just remove that feature all together and be done with it. 

We have the Advanced Settings > Customize Store tool to feature products on our Home page.

Christmas mixed with Valentine etc.Can't remove it either, which looks weird when you're building a well organized store ... Wish at least hiding this category would work when deselected in the advanced options. When I first started, I didn't know what I was doing when I put the random products in the featured category. Please watch out for this problem Zazzle!

This is disturbing that everyone is having this problem. I'd hoped to find a solution in community. Ugh. Has anyone tried chatting online with a real person? It was after hours each time I tried and chat bot only once understood question but couldn't help. I'll try again when real people are answering. I don't mind my featured products showing but I'd like to put up new ones every now and then. Good luck all. If I learn anything I'll let you know.

This may be of some help.

Recently I noticed I had Two Featured Products Category Folders that I did not create and did not know what the heck it was. One was empty, the other one had some random items in it (but I didn't have cover images for them, so they didn't show via my store).  I left it alone not knowing how they got there.  But then after noticing them again while working on my store I decided to try deleting them. 

Via the backend under Category I was able to delete the empty Featured Products folder.  The other Featured Products folder with items in it wouldn't let me delete the folder, until I first deleted all the items within it, and then I was able to delete that folder too.  Strange how they appeared there in the first place.

And like other's have said, if we want to add a Featured Category folder for home page view, we can do that via Advanced Settings...

I also had trouble removing items from Featured Products for years. Recently though, I decided to tackle them again - I simply changed the store category and it magically worked! At the moment I have zero featured products.

Just have to delete the Featured Products folder under Category, per my post above.  Any items included in that Featured Products folder that are deleted, are still in the other assigned category folders.  I double checked before deleting, but figured they'd still be in another folder anyway where I had put them.

ETA:  Separate from deleting Featured Products folders under Category, as mentioned above.  I was able to delete those folders that I did not create.

But when you click on an Item in the backend and click Actions there's an option to Add to Featured Products.  

Zazzle mods can you please remove this option from that drop-down item menu?  That is causing confusion as if an item is added to Featured Products from there (oftentimes by mistake), but it can't then be removed.  You can Click Edit to Remove the item from it, but it still stays there!  Why is that option there underneath an item?  It's not the same thing as choosing to make a Featured Collection visible via your store from Advanced settings of any of your folders to highlight.   As it is now, via the backend when you scroll down past the Products section and past Department, it lists your Store Name (above Category) and it says:

All Products, Featured Products, All Categories.  

When you click on Featured Products from this area you'll see any items in there that you cannot remove (which were added via the Item under Actions > Add to Featured Products).  Can you please remove this option?  Thank you
