Wrong referrals - a glitch?

I got today a bunch of referral sales which Im not referring,
is it a system glitch, or someone put a wrong ref ID;
I emailed, seems stopped now

You can get referrals for items you didn't actively refer. Once your cookie is attached to a customer, you get a referral on anything they buy during the cookie timeperiod.  I think it is about 30 days. I don't remember exactly.

thank you, didnt know about that cookie, maybe customer have many sisters and ordered for each one a t-shirt
