Has anyone opted out of ambassador program?

Did you make more than being in the program?

May is dead for me and I am seriously considering opting out of the program

Will that help?

Any ideas...?

Thanks in Advance

I opted out as it does not make sense for me, given I only get a (self) referral once a year or so. And I keep using the rf-code. (Not sure if that is good or not, but I just thought it might be better). Also: sales have tanked AND they are all 3rd party now. Even a " none" is rare these days.
So in short: depending on your situation, it would not make any difference (unless you get a massive amount of self-referrals). My five cents and best of luck with selling! 🙂

What do you think you are accomplishing by doing this? If it makes no difference, why not give yourself the chance to earn a referral every so often.

@CrazyMermaid  It is my understanding that if someone buys a product from another designer and you are in the "ambassador" program, you do not get a referral at all.

I think you are very confused. If you are not in the program, you never get a referral, under any circumstance. If you opt in, then you get it sometimes. But if you think of this as a benefit. Fine, I just don't get it It hurts no one but you.

@CrazyMermaid That's not my experience. Can you show where it says that?

how did you opt out on April 1st 2025 as the referral program ended and we were all rolled into the Ambassador program.  I did not read anywhere that we could opt out.  Also receiving the higher earning in the ambassador program is just as hard as the referral program, but getting the earning is good even if its not often.  Maybe once or twice a month, for me I average out at 3 Ambassador sales monthly.   The marketing fees will continue even if you opt out.

Read section 10, closest I could find to what you are asking.

It totally deserves to be tested how an account performs with and without the ambassador program because, based on the tests and results people have been posting on the forum, it may occur that your earnings will be better without the program, especially for those with rare sales as "none" and who most of the time get "3rd Party" sales.

But that won’t save you from Zazzle’s ridiculous and unfair 50% marketing fee.

Nope. Unless I'm reading it wrong, the marketing fee is charged regardless - so I don't see any benefit to opting out.

Almost all my sales are 3rd party now

How? Can you elaborate?

If you opt out you will still get hit with 35 to 50% marketing fees.

Did you read the document that Idraw linked to above it describes how the program works. I think it is very clear.

@Anne @wpl

This is how I interpret the Agreement.

From the Ambassador Program Agreement in section 10.
"If this Ambassador Program Agreement is terminated for any other reason, you are only eligible to earn Referral Commissions on sales occurring during the Term of the Ambassador Program Agreement, and Referral Commissions earned through the date of termination will remain payable only if the related orders are not canceled or returned. We reserve the right to withhold your final Referral Commission payment for a reasonable time to ensure that the correct amount is paid by the Customer to us."

In other words, once you are out of the Ambassador Program you do not earn "referral commissions". If a customer clicks on your pin with the rf# after you've left the program you won't earn the 15% referral.

Thanks, @LMGildersleeve
I don't like it a bit. So now I am supposed to remove all rf numbers from my links? Sigh.

@Anne  I wouldn't remove your RF from your pins. It's a lot of extra work for no extra benefit and you may decide to opt in at a later date.

Thanks, @Sara_H
I did opt in just today, after several people advised to do so.
I have to read all 100+ pages of small print again I guess. My brain just does not seem to process these things.
No extra benefit in any direction as far as I can see. But on the plus side: there is always room for more confusion 🙂

Since the new Ambassador program my sales has been flatter than a popcorn's fart. I give up moving to work on other sites that don't do this. Best to luck everyone.
