@Scott

this is a repost of a NONANSWERED post of mine on 4/27.  My post was ignored even tho I pointed it at 3 different mods.. I would very much appreciate your response,since I just now checked and you are online. Thanks in advance.

Here it is:

While we are working on our shops, logged in, and gathering our links in order to also promote our own work on our external websites/blogs/etc., does this mean we are getting cookies attached and thus being charged third party commission which of course Z gets,for our sales?

In theory: if we shopkeepers log in to: read or post in forums, check our earnings, work with a customer on a problem product, reply to a customer in chat, gather our product links to post elsewhere to promote our shops,  are we in essence giving most of our earnings to Z?
If so, Zazzle, where our shop monies are concerned, and if this is the case, very unfair practice.

Please! Attention Moderators take the time to explain and reply quickly and clearly about this issue, to clarify for all of us.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Thank you for the extremely long awaited reply… since it took my posting the same questions twice, the first was 4/27 , and the second on 5/5.  At least i/we finally got a concise answer. This is it:

” Your activity while on the Zazzle Site does not change how Referrals are handled. “

Now, going forward ,watching to see whether that holds true in future.

Again, thank you Heather,much appreciated.

I don't mean to assert myself before a moderator replies (if they do), but just wanted to explain that anytime you're clicking onto a website, usually it depends on the browser, but the OS browsers will usually hold a cookie and a cache for your history of time on the website.  So, it has been said to clear your cache/cookies before trying to earn a self-referral.  The thought that it still holds the cookie, somehow, and then still charged the 3rd party commision?  Again, for self-referral purchases, it's completely blind to us...who is the 3rd party?  Especially if you cleared your cache/cookies, right?
The whole point being, in order to get a self-referral, one must: not log in until the purchase system requires you to do so.  To better your chances, do not go anywhere on the site, including reading the forums, check your earnings, work with a customer or problem product, reply to a chat, etc, as this just goes back to the first step, don't log in.  Because all you're doing is creating cache/cookies along those spots on their website.
I hope this helps clarify it some.

Thanks for chiming in, but I wanted to have a definite and concise answer from z mods. This is the second post with the same content that they have ignored and/or chosen to purposely not respond. (First was April 27, with no response) I get the feeling that we are basically only just talking about to each other.

@idraw LOL, yes we are talking to each other! In the occasional "lucky" case something gets referred to "the team", which has an eerie resemblance to a black hole.

Hi @idraw  - Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, and thank you for your patience.

Referred Sales are tracked based on how the Customer arrives at Zazzle—whether through your Self-Promotion Links, a Zazzle advertisement, or other sources.  Your activity while on the Zazzle Site does not change how Referrals are handled.  We advise Creators to use the share function to ensure they get Self-Promotion Links (To promote your own Products) or Cross-Promotion Links (if promoting other Creator Products).
