Has Zazzle Changed the Invitation Categories for Birthdays, Graduations, Aniversaries etc?

Last week when I designed Birthday Invitations, there were categories for 30,40,50,60 etc. Zazzle had told us that selecting the correct category to design in was critical to marketplace placement. Today I went to design a birthday invite and see no general category for Birthdays. This is also true for Anniversary, Graduation etc.  What's going on? Did I miss an announcement? Honestly this is the stuff that drives me crazy on Zazzle. Just letting us "discover" this stuff is very inefficient. I never know whether I've screwed up, whether the Zazzle system is having "a bad day" or if this is a change I need to take to heart.

I saw your post, so I experimented creating a 30th birthday party invitation. When posting the invitation for sale, I encountered the usual category placement of birthday, then by year, I chose 30th birthday and completed posting it as usual.

Thanks for checking Susan. Yes, the last part stays the same. But the beginning process changed. Until today there was the paper breakout where I had to select 30th birthday under Birthdays. The select the paper invitation shape to use. Then post it for sail. We were told that selecting the correct invitation paper, was critical for MP ranking. It's fine with me if this has been simplified. I am just feeling a little disoriented!

I have always just selected “invitation” as the card type, whether it was birthday, wedding, bridal shower, baby shower, etc. it brings up the 5x7 flat card and I begin the design. When I post it for sale, I indicate in the title what the event is. The appropriate Zazzle category appears and I select it and continue filling in the other posting info. I am getting sales so I assume what I have been doing is correct. Is there new guidance that I may have overlooked?

That's interesting! They told us in the past that it was important to choose the right paper breakout, so when I'm doing weddings, I make sure to go to Create> Weddings> Invitations and Stationery> Wedding Invitations, so I know for sure it is correct!

I'm really not sure why I am seeing something different. It could be that I am overthinking this, which would be typical of me.

I noticed yesterday that when you go to create a product, or even transfer a design to a new product, the Department tree is gone from the left side. There's only the search bar at the top, so it's impossible to make sure you are in the right paper breakout. Perhaps this is all part of the same thing, either a glitch, or a new site "feature?"

Yes! that is it. I am not losing my mind! My question is, has the paper breakout been eliminated? Can we stop worrying about creating invitations on the correct piece of paper. Zazzle originally said if we started on the wrong part of the department tree, our products would not rank well. If it hasn't been eliminated, how do we ensure we are at the correct starting point.

I really wish Zazzle would give us an official answer! I started another thread about it, and the answer I got was "Thank you for highlighting this with us. I'll be passing this question along to the Team."

Mark mentioned on the 16th that he would give a response in this thread.

I'm seeing the same ie minus the department tree on the left and yay it would be brilliant if it's fine to select the general invitation option and then choose the correct department as we post for sale (which is what I've been doing with the budget invites in any case which doesn't seem to have stopped them being found). For now with this new layout I've been clicking on Refine By Category link (above the first invite on the page) and narrowing my selection from there which works the same way as per the original department tree did on the left hand side. But would love to know for sure if this is not necessary anymore.
