When a customer via chat shares the link (seen below) so you can access THEIR edited version of the template, it gives us the option after editing it to SELL it! What I don't see is an option to redirect our newly edited version back to them without 'selling it and setting to direct only' - so we can send them the direct link to the newly edited product.
Does the customer automatically see our edits without doing anything, does it get saved on their side?
Will they lose their own edits?
Thank you in advance. I have been avoiding this feature because of not fully understanding it, but if I can get to grips with it, it will be worthwhile for my customers and save me from starting from scratch on a non edited template.

Well, here's how I do it.
- They send me a link like you described above.
- I'll tweak/fix the design for them.
- Then instead of publishing it (sell button) again, I simply use the share links at the bottom to make the popup appear again. This time it will have a new link in the top box, and I send them that link.
As long it still says "designed for you by {your store name}" then it's still tagged as your product and you'll still get the royalty.
I find this system to be MUCH easier than using the collaboration tool because I don't have to try to schedule it so we're both online at the same time - plus it's harder to get trapped into the whole "Oh, but could you just add one more thing..." deal.
One thing to note. If the customer is on a phone, the process of getting the share link is totally different. Instead of clicking on the link icon below the image, there's a funny arrow in the top right hand corner. I usually send them this image to help them figure out how to find the right link to send me.

Brilliant thank you Cat!
I also won't be using collaboration due to time restraints.
