Yes. I remember testing this out a while ago. Anything you set to be done to the template image will be done to the customer's uploaded image replacement. So if you crop an image, or flip it, same will happen to customer's image which can be pretty confusing. So for template images, better to have them sized & oriented properly 'straight outta the box' and save the behind-the-scenes actions for non-template design elements.
