Things were, and seem to stay real bad for me. Once in awhile I get a sale, but its just enough to keep me going attitude wise.

@Peter222 It’s not overly exciting on my end either. Three sales in July and one in August so far. Oh well, I’m learning a lot though which has value in it self too. So on we go, smile.

I had one sale in July and, so far, one sale in August. I expect my next sale to be in September. Sigh.

It's almost as if they "allow" it just to keep you semi interested don't they?

June/July have been down on last year's sales and this year's August is looking poor as well - which is puzzling given the extra work I'd put in and which seemed to be paying off until May of this year. Indeed my main shop recently dropped a Z-rank which I suspect is due to slow sales. Don't know if it's the economy or Zazzle is not spending as much on ads or what it is, but the downturn is unwelcome.

I am wondering more about the ad spend. When I search Google and Google Shopping for a product, an ad strip would be across the top full of Zazzle designs. Here lately all I see is Etsy, Amazon, Temu, and Wal-Mart in those ad spaces.

No matter what I search for (with Duck Duck Go), I see exactly the same ads at the top as you do, and I'm searching for wildly different items. Is it possible fewer businesses are buying ad space on the search engines?

Temu spent $386 million on advertising in the first four months of 2024. Their sales are expected to reach $50 billion this year, up from $16 billion last year. They sell cheap junk, but people keep buying from them because the prices are so low.

My June, July, and August sales have increased quite a bit compared to the same timeframe last year. Just a guess, but I believe my increased sales resulted from adding cover photos to all my new products, plus adding cover photos to my top-selling older products.
In my opinion, cover photos should have very little going on in the background to keep customers’ attention focused on the product. If people are saying, “cool background,” instead of “cool product,” try simplifying the background and see if that helps to increase sales.

July and August sales are down versus last year and versus the past few months. I add new products every week and I tried to add few cover photos but It didn't make any difference. I hope sales go up again soon

summer time is over, Olympic is also over, some forest fire disaster has been controlled, market crash has rebound.... and so on.... that's why our sales is coming back. it's a domino effect.
On the other hand, the whine fairy is still drunk and sleeping in her shack.

My sales are down 38% compared to this time last year and down 60% compared to this time two years ago. Holiday sales last winter were very low. I've been adding products and created a new store, but the sales keep dropping. I usually add a bunch of new products before the holidays. But what I am making now on Zazzle is just a few of sales from my website. Temu is spending a lot on advertising, that is hurting sales everywhere.

I was getting nice sales for the first ten days in August then it came to a crashing halt. I'm way down from last year. I advertise on social media, add to my store almost everyday, do the cover photos, create collections. I love Zazzle but I'm close to being done. It's hard to stay motivated.

Several years ago, I did some advertising on facebook. NOT for zazzle but for other businesses and I failed.... wasted some money. so I stop doing any advertising. maybe I just don't know what I'm doing. how about yours? have you tried pinterest?

Most of my advertising is on Pinterest. One reason is because if they save the pin it will advertise on that person's Pinterest as well and the pin will be there forever unless I delete it. It also gives me the highest number of click thrus. Sometimes I will pay other large accounts to promote me on Instagram, but mostly I do Pinterest.

@glitterandchic I used to get a lot of traffic from Pinterest, but that has dropped off. I've been thinking about trying out their advertising. I also want to look into advertising on Reddit and Quora. I do image searches for my products. If someone has a print of mine in the background of a TikTok, YouTube or other video, a screenshot of the video will show up in google searches with the print in the background. I think you can pause a video and search for an image in the video on some cellphones.

@chuamishael I agree with advertising on Facebook. But the boost a post option of advertising works well for me.

Mine have been down, but I figure it's probably because I haven't done much with my store in a while. I'm working on my store more, so hopefully sales will pick up.

Sales picked up a micro tiny bit lately. I keep working but I don't feel super motivated. I do believe sales are down over all no matter the venue. I have a friend who made good money on poshmark and she's only had a handful of sales for this year. I hope the market turns for all of us this sales season !

My husband works part time at a local yacht club that rents out its large clubhouse for parties--weddings, birthdays, Halloween, showers, Christmas, you-name-it. The number of such parties has slowly dwindled over the past few years, and the sense of it is that the cost of food skyrocketing dampened the enthusiasm.
Now, think about it: Zazzle's biggest push has always been for events, but if what we're seeing at the yacht club is a microcosm of what's going on all over the place, wouldn't it make sense that sales of products for events would be going down here too?

I have also noticed that when I do sell invitations, the quantities are for lesser amounts also. So events may not be as big as before to save on costs also?
