Yup , Wesha will not be making posters in that size again! As Chefcateringbiz pointed out if the customer wants a large they can choose one.

You probably chose a large size and quality paper as your default?
I don't sell posters that much but my experience is to find a middle of the road price/quality.
IMO, the only benefit of pricing way high is you come out on top if the buyer sorts by price high>low.
Just my 2 cents.

I agree that it's probably this. Archival paper instead of value paper is more expensive. Choose a large size and that archival paper is incredibly expensive.

Large size posters ain't cheap no matter what kind of paper you get. I have posters for business that are standard at 30x20, but businesses are paying for those, otherwise I would go with 11x14 or 16x20 for regular peeps and let them decide how much money they want to spend.

Poster prices went as you say nuts with the last poster overhaul. Plus you don't get the semi-gloss paper variant anymore ("satin" variant if I remember well) and have to stick to a matte print. $27.25 base price (with the base 5% royalty) for a medium 18x24" standard poster is way too much, let alone $40.65 for a standard large 24x36" or $46.45 for a 27x40 movie poster. Add to this the issues with bad packaging and damaged posters mentioned here. Posters aren't on my top to-do list anymore.
