Please help!

I have just found out that my royalty was cancelled on this product.  How could this be?

Could be any number of reasons we are not privy too: customer received it late, item was damaged, or item was not what they expected.

I've resigned myself to the inevitability of order cancellations. They're unfortunate, but they're going to happen.

It would actually be helpful if Zazzle gave a general cancellation reason, so we would know if there was a hiccup caused by our design and how the customer used it. Something as simple as:

arrived late

did not arrive

wrong item

quality of physical product

quality/defective design

no longer wanted

just so we have an idea of “this one could be my design”, “this one was just mishandled shipping”.

I have one that just got canceled literally from late April.

Even though we'd all dearly love knowing the reasons, I bet Zazzle bookkeepers would hate it.

Oh I’m certain. They could probably easily collect it off the return/cancellation request though.

But yes, another field of data to store, etc.

From a designer s perspective, the term Royalty Cancelled is not only inadequate as an explanation but also misleading. Surely Sale Cancelled is more accurate as the royalty is part of the sale and we will understand why the royalty value is in the pink column. If the sale has been cancelled/product returned then there is no royalty.

hey skyrmedesign ! I have a question about sale getting cancelled .. do you think this would effect our product in some ways or other?

Sanainvi, unless we know the reason for the cancellation we do not know if it was due to a product defect or a design issue. I assume it is usually a product defect but it would be nice to know.

I agree, it would be nice to know why a cancelation happened.  I have had customers cancel an order 1-2 weeks after order and then reorder 2-3 days later.  I am guessing it may be due to an error on their part when customizing (perhaps misspelling or a change in an even time). They may have noticed the error when they received the product in the mail and contacted Zazzle. So this can be a reason why some cancelations happen as well.
