What happened to my replace option in the design tool?

For the last few years, I have been able to revise a product and replace the old design instead of posting as a new design. As of this weekend, I no longer have that option. Why and can I please have it back?

I noticed that too. I went to update a year on a New Year card and that function was gone. My guess/hope is that they deactivated it temporarily during the busiest time for sales? 🤞

Based on the postings, it seems like more than few Zazzle designers have (or had) the Replace feature. What percentage of Zazzle Designers have this feature? Fifty percent? Can Zazzle explain why some designers get this ability—and clear advantage—over others? This silence and lack of fairness are unnecessary and frustrating. Every designer deserves access to the same features.

I agree with you jadendreamer, I have been here 16 1/2 years, requested that feature more than once, never got it. And yet many others who were chosen and able to use it are unhappy ,thinking it has been paused. Be grateful that some of you were selected to get it.( 🥃glass half full perspective fits here.)

Some designers have mentioned that the replace feature has been paused for the holiday period when things are extra busy at Zazzle. Content management is overwhelmed and doesn't have time to review the replaced designs. I would expect it to return after the holidays are past, but we have no info from Zazzle to confirm that yet.

(also posted in the tech thread referenced above.) Hi all, Thanks for your patience while we looked in to this. I can confirm that we have paused this feature until the New Year due to prioritizing more pressing reviews over the Holiday period. We expect to bring it back online from the week starting of the 6th of January. Thanks so much and apologies for the delay in communicating this.

You did not address the issue that only some designers can access this feature. So, I’m asking again: when will everyone have this feature?

There are a lot of factors to consider to be able to offer this to everyone, @Jadendreamer13 given the background work that is involved. But we're actively working to scale this tool to hopefully do just that in the future.

Thank you for your response. In the meantime, can the group of selected users be rotated so everyone gets a chance to use the Replace feature? Or keep this feature turned off until every user has access to it? We need to level the playing field so every designer has an equal chance to succeed and make sales.
Or, how about adding a feature like “Add Current Year,” where designers can choose an option to add the current year that updates automatically? That would reduce the necessity of a Replace option in a lot of cases.

I have the tool (except for currently) and have found that it has limited use. It's good for correcting things like having put a specific year on a calendar rather than "20xx" in a template. It's also good for correcting the position of something. Recently, I was able to correct a text template that had somehow been set as not editable on the product page. But, you can't add new text templates, which is something I could really use. Anyway, it has very limited use other than correcting an error.

Hi James, while you're working on it, how about adding a simple form with checkboxes about the sort of changes that have been made and a text field for additional information before submitting, so you know what has changed and can process the request quicker or pass it through if the changes are minor and not disruptive? I have the option but used it only once or twice even if I would have liked to adjust some little quirks and features in various designs. Didn't want to bother your review team with little non-essential things.
Just a suggestion to make life easier. Happy Holidays to the whole team!
