ZAZZLE INTEGRITY

I purchase so much art online to use on my Zazzle Stores that TurboTax popped up asking if Zazzle was a HOBBY considering I spend more than I earn (a trend that has to stop for me since the life flip and deeeeeep debts ...). I communicate and know many of the artists now, sites administration, etc., and follow the artists' offerings.

I have noticed on one popular clipart site that if a store owner does a particular idea with hundreds of designs that suddenly a good portion of the online site is doing the same. Vague example: A line of bling beach turtles ... gnomes surfing ... art styles, and actually more precise themes, etc., and those are light compared to variations of entire lines being done by many after one starts. Hey, it gives us choices, and it hurts nobody; yet, it's just obvious. It isn't that they don't have integrity; rather, it's just something I noticed a while back.

It made me think of how many unique ideas pop up on Zazzle by creative shop owners. I don't even look at the ideas of others no matter how successful they are for the same reason a country music writer in Nashville once told me he doesn't look at the writings of others - He doesn't want to get the idea in his head and later wonder if it was his or if he basically was inspired by someone else's idea.

I mean, it's good to be inspired; yet, over the years (with the exception of a store years ago that flat out copied each idea I had as soon as I posted it), for that reason, and being into my own things, I don't look. With so much creativity on Zazzle, it would be easy for others to be tempted to copy successful ideas; yet, it doesn't seem to happen ... or at least, I don't see it. I see that as INTEGRITY .... and as many of us have been on Zazzle since the start, I see it as friendship from afar and loyalty which is rare these days.

An obvious example would be the huge success I would imagine of the prescription pad by one of the successful designers a long while back. Knowing it had to be successful, many could have followed by using that idea; yet, I don't think they did (I hope they didn't ....) which is admirable if they did not.

All in all, it seems to me that Zazzle designers, staff, etc. have a quality that is rare, and it is integrity along with graciousness in helping other designers ... which is one of the reasons I love being on Zazzle.

Just saying ....

Excuse typos - 'need a new laptop, but it's low in the priority list right now.

"TurboTax popped up asking if Zazzle was a HOBBY considering I spend more than I earn"

I can relate! I owned & operated a little beer & wine tavern, and the first few years triggered a "hobby" status warning from the accountants.

I agree Zazzle has more creativity and integrity than most.

Well, your "hobby" took a lot of work, but what a great one to have! (I meant this to go to JLynnW - 'sent it to myself first and can't delete it) .... Off to plow through a mess.....
