Zoom Missing

I am not seeing a Zoom button on product pages to enlarge images.

Just noticed the same thing. But if I click on the image it enlarges.

Ahhh, didn't think of clicking on the image.  I'm sure some others - like me 😞  won't think that either so would be nice to get the zoom button back.

Yesterday there was no way to zoom a finished image then suddenly today an arrow showed up to do it. It is really lousy. Whenever I put the cursor over any part of finished image this arrow shows up. It wouldn't be so bad if it stayed in one place. I can not point out a part of a design using the mouse because said arrow fills up the spot. I hope the thing calms down and sits in one corner of the image instead of showing up where ever the cursor is. It is really annoying. Plus the zoomed in image is always too big to fit on a page. I wish I had the ability to click on the image to make it bigger or smaller like a normal zoom option. There should be a way for someone designing to be able to turn off the zoom or to use it more efficiently.

I think it is an A/B test thing, because I was adding some products to Pinterest yesterday, and when I started, the magnifying glass icon was there, and it disappeared after I viewed a couple of products. I personally think it is best to leave it.

With tonight's website update there will be an 'expand' icon that appears when you hover over the image.

In re: design theft...   I hardly think so, Windy.  When expanded, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, the images actually seem bigger to me than they did before.  (See too Kashmier's comments below.)

Is that icon/symbol something that's recognized by phone users? I would have NO idea that a double sided arrow meant "click to expand" but if it's something phone users recognize then I'm all for it.

Phone users will not see the icon because they do not have a cursor or a hover state. Instead, they see an image and if they want a larger version they'll tap on it or zoom in on the screen.

But, yes, I think this is a fairly common icon. If you do a Google Images search for "expand icon" you'll see a lot of similar types of icons.

I'm not seeing any icon when hovering (waited several seconds on desktop using Windows 10), but clicking does enlarge it. I might have thought to click if I hadn't seen this thread.

I didn't see it on my laptop either (also Windows 10). Maybe it only shows on tablet or phone. I hovered and then when that didn't work I moved the mouse around the picture but no expansion icon. Clicking did work.

Yes - I am seeing the icon wherever my cursor is on the image.

Yesterday I kept getting the expanded image when I was just moving around to find the LINK icon at the bottom. Today, this seems to have quieted down.

I can see it working on my touchscreen!! As I go to click on the image using my iPad, I sometimes see the icon for a brief sec before the image enlarges. I never used that plus icon ever and had no idea what you guys were talking about, but now I remember it was something in the lower right corner of the image of the product. I always had to photoshop that plus out in order to share my images to Pinterest and have them look good. So I. am thrilled I won't have to do that anymore.

I find the new "zoom" icon very annoying! Every time I drag my mouse across the screen to do something, such as checking out the insitus or going over to hit the back button, that zoom icon flashes. I have to carefully maneuver around the image area to avoid having it pop up in my face. I'm wondering if it is possible to set the parameters so that the icon does not immediately pop up unless you actually stop to hover over the item image for an additional second. That would be so much better!

Oh my! That is crazy-making indeed! I had been thinking it was all about phone users, but it doesn't show up at all on my phone. I have to give this "feature" a decisive thumbs down!

that arrow is the STUPIDEST thing thats ever been on any website in the history of the internet. its in the way, its big, it annoying

i hope zazzle comes to its senses and removes it
