These are changes just to change stuff. If it's not broke, why "fix" it. I won't be able to find replies to this. I don't even know where this post is or how I got here. What a freaking mess. Why?

And my username should be MECP. Can I change it back or completely disconnect from this community?

Here's a link to all the folders.

The last I've heard, you can't change your username. I randomly picked a name not knowing it was permanent.

You can click the dropdown arrow on the right and subscribe to a post and you'll get notifications on it.

It does take a bit of time to get used to, but it does get easier. I have figured out how to find what I need to know and ignore the rest. I just focused on the technical forum for a few days, because that is the most important information for me personally.

To find if someone has replied to your post go to the top right hand corner and there is a drop down found in your profile picture. Click on notifications. There you will also see if someone has given you "kudos" (likes for your post) and more.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have no doubt I could learn how to navigate this community if I wanted to. "You simply spin the wheel of mayhem to go up the ladder of chance. You go past the mud hut through the rainbow ring to get to the golden monkey. You yank his tail and then boom you're in paradise pond."* Even Joey could figure it out

My only question now is do I pick a wango card? Too bad the Bamboozle game dropped all the crazy rules because research showed people just wanted a simple question and answer game. Sorry Joey.

Don't want to give all my points to the the other contestant for copyright infringement.

Now how do I get out of here? Oh yes, there's the mud hut

I too am not a fan of how this new forum is set up. And usually I make it past the mud hud, but then get distracted by the rainbow ring, and never get to the golden monkey, let alone yank it's tail land in the paradise pond. And then hit the road out of here again while I still can.

Meaning... Yeah to all you've said 😄

username,

I'd put in a quote but forgot how to do it. Need an idiot button. Can't find one.

I think we should drive to Cali and get tickets for game show.

Wish I had username for my username. The good ones always go fast

There are 14 statistics listed in my profile. Fourteen.  I suspect gamers designed this community.  Scores are enticing. I'll have to check them every day. It's what will get me up in the morning.

I need to stop responding to responses. 🤐  I will resist.

Zazzle, no offense. Still love you.😍

I adapt pretty easily to change but this...it feels like it was designed for mobile users of which I am not. I've frankly never seen a message board set up like this before and I'm just not a fan, but it's here, carved in stone, and it won't be changed for another 15 years probably. I needed a reason to stop checking the message board every day and Zazzle provided. Thank you. 😁

I'm not sure why people keep saying it seems like the new forum was designed for mobile because from my experience (I often browse the forum from my phone to pass the time on breaks at work) it certainly was not.

Here's what the list of forums looks like on my phone vrs my laptop:

Forums.jpg

And here's what the list of topics inside a forum looks like:

Topics.jpg

I didn't crop anything out from the phone screenshots -  that's literally all I can see without scrolling, two forums/topics. On the forum list, it doesn't show you the number of new posts or date of last one as it does on the pc. Likewise with the list of topics inside a forum, it doesn't show the number of comments or how many are new. And there is no convenient navigation panel. You have to scroll back to the top of a page and use the breadcrumbs. I have a pretty old phone (a Samsung Galaxy S7 Active if the techs care to know) so maybe it's better on newer/larger devices but from my point of view here, the forum design is definitely not prioritizing mobile use/design over pc use/design.

I genuinely don't understand most of the complaints about the new forum. Sure, there is a lot of negative space on the sides, but why does that matter? It doesn't effect navigation or readability. The content is all centered on our screens and if you reduce your screen down to 1024 wide it's a perfect fit, no extra space. So my guess is they designed for 1024 x 768 which at one time was the most common screen size, and as a user's screen size goes up, so does the amount of negative space on the sides but the content in the center remains the same so it works out for everyone.

As for being lost and too hard to navigate, I don't understand those complaints either. This forum works just the same as the old one: Use a link to go to the list of forums, click a forum to browse,  scroll the list of threads/topics, pick a topic to view, scroll down that as you read through the thread ... That's no different then before. The only difference is we now have the addition of a "home" page with a feed of most recent posts. If that's all one is using then OK, yeah, it would be confusing.

If you bookmark these three links and use them instead of the home page, you won't be lost. 😉

Creators (list of forums which pretty much mirrors the old ones)

Community (three forums specific to forum use)

News & Info (two forums akin to the old News forum that only Mods could post in)

Aside from the tiny-to-me post text I keep complaining about, I think the new forum is terrific. It beings so many useful new features to us (that one doesn't have to use if they don't want to) and gives us some of the things people used to ask for in the old forum like better search functionality and the ability to easily find replies to a question you may have asked. And behind the scenes it's apparently providing a better more efficient means for the Z team to track, analyze and report suggestions & tech issues.

Also we have to remember that it is still a new work-in-progress for Z who so far have been pretty open to our feedback/suggestions as they figure it all out.
