Can't add products to new collection from back end

I have a problem where I can't add any products to a new collection from the back end. I can add directly from the Collection Management, but that won't work for all the products, because I'd have to search through 3500 products to find all the ones I want to add! The "search" function doesn't actually bring up DESIGNS, only products, so I can't use that to search for the ones I need, and I also can't go to a specific category to find the products.

This is a definite glitch that needs to be fixed, please! I have 23 products with no home, because I can't add them to the collection I made for them!

I'm having this issue as well. Usually there is a short lag (10-15 minutes) between creating a new collection and it appearing in in the dropdown list, but it's been much longer than that and my new collections still aren't showing up when I choose "add to collection."

Sorry to hear about this issue.

I have been able to add a product to a collection from the store backend as expected.

Can you link the product and collection that this will not work for please?

I'm not @Connie but am having the same issue and having been checking this thread to see if it's been fixed.

It's not a specific product or collection, but rather that the dropdown menu does not find new collections, so there is no way to add products to them. For instance, I'd like to add a product to a new collection called "Christmas and Hanukkah Aprons." However, when I select a product (any product) and click "add to collection," I see this:Screenshot 2023-10-17 at 15.51.43.png

This is a known issue.

I also find this very frustrating and an obstacle to work flow. I sincerely hope a fix for this can be found.

It's (sort of) been fixed. For a week or so my new collections weren't showing up at all, so I was unable to add products. Now they show up, but there is a definite lag—if I create a new collection, it usually takes a few hours before it appears in the list.

My workaround is just to create a bunch of new/empty collections a few days before I plan to do anything with them, so by the time I want to add products they're available in the dropdown list. Not ideal, but it works in a pinch.
