Hello All!

I'm trying to figure out how to create store categories and subcategories. So far they are not showing up in my shop.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions for me?

You may have already done the following but just in case (and for others who might not know exactly how)
Choose Store Categories

Then choose add new Category
Once you have added a new category and saved it,
then choose that new category,
and choose new category, which will create a subcategory
under the new category you just created.

Store category>New category
New category>new subcategory 1
new category 2
Then if you want another new store category

Store category>create New category 2
New category 2>new subcategory 1
new category 2

 Edit to add: as Windy mentioned, the indexer is slow lately, so you may not see your categories till they get indexed.

It takes a few days maybe for the indexing to catch up to the work you have done on categories.

You didn't mention whether they don't show up for you or for the customers.

If they show up for you but not the customers it's because Categories will only be seen by Customers if there is an image attached to it. Zazzle says (on the Category page)

Categories must contain a cover image to be featured on the Store homepage.

There are TWO Boxes.........for your categories that you create to show up in your shop they have to be in the 2nd box....mine show up but they are not highlighted....does that matter? Or do I just need to wait a few days like you have said to see if my categories show up in my Shop?

If you mean on the Post for Sale page, then yes, you do have to choose which Store you want it in - the 2nd box.

But you also have to select a Store Category which is right above it, and if you don't, it won't show up in your store properly.

You'll then have to go to the management end of you store and click on All Products and find your product and go to Edit Details and click on the left menu item Categories.

Then choose which Store Category you want it attached to. Some people only have one or two categories and that's fine. I like using collections better, but you have to have at least one category to attach new products to (at least that's been my experience).

If this isn't what you're looking for you might want to tell us where you are in your store when you're having these problems, or include a screenshot.
