My product pins are showing up as yours are: vague title and unclickable.  However, I just did a video pin and all my info comes up and it is clickable through to the landing page.  Makes me wonder if Z is trying to jump on the "video" band wagon or it could just be a blip.

It works with new products if you click on the image, not the title. But after 24 hours, everything goes back to the same issue.

I created a pin yesterday, and it worked well when I clicked on the title I created. But when I checked the next day, the issue was still there 🙂

When I go to your pin on my computer (Windows 10 using Firefox browser) there are three different places I can click on that take me to your product.

When using the Pinterest app on my phone (fairly recent Samsung Galaxy model running Android v14), I also get three different places to tap that take me to your product:

And both ways, phone and computer, I see your custom description.

Just curious, how did you find the pin?

I just guessed that since pinning is important to OP they probably have their Pinterest link on their Z profile and they did. I clicked on several pins and they all worked fine, this one was easy to spot near the top of the page as it's newer. Would be easier though if people remembered to include a link to the thing they are asking about. 😉

It seems like there are 2 different pins. One created by the designer and one created by Zazzle. The designer one looks like the one you posted and has the proper title and description.

The one OP posted doesn't seem to be created by OP on Pinterest but by Zazzle, which doesn't have all the information.

@J32Design But I'm getting the Zazzle created pin these days even though I'm the one pinning it. Is that because it's not a manual pin? But I wasn't getting that before everything broke a week or 2 ago when no one was able to pin anything at all directly from Zazzle.

My reply was just to highlight the fact that what @ColsCreations sees is due to the fact that he/she is looking at a different pin from OP.

However, I believe it is the case, that if you manually enter all your title description and upload an image etc. it is a pin you created and is therefore credited to you. Even if it is linked to Zazzle. However, if you go through the share option on the product page you get the less accurate version which is credited to Zazzle.

I've just tried to add a pin via entering the URL into Pinterest's create a pin option and get an error saying "Sorry! This site doesn't allow you to save Pins.". This is another problem, where Zazzle seems to have closed off as an option.

Hey @halamanh,

Sorry to hear about this issue.

I have the same results as @ColsCreations, I am able to click on three different parts of the Pin. Is this issue still occurring for you?

Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve been dying to hear from you. Can you try it on your phone now? It worked yesterday and earlier today, but it’s not working for me now. A lot of products I pinned before, and the collection is starting to have the same issue. It works fine on my laptop, but most of my customers use Pinterest on their phones to make purchases.

@Mark So this is what I'm getting these days: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/646829565263717470/

As you can see, the only thing clickable is zazzle.com, which does take me to my product. Regardless of how many times I pin this from Zazzle, I get this same result since the original pinning error glitch. Before it was glitchy, but by repinning a few times & deleting the duplicates I was able to get all 3 areas (as shown in the previous posts) clickable. Sometimes it took a day or 2 but it eventually ended up there. However, this time, I can't get rid of what is initially pinned (no description under the photo & only 1 area clickable once opened).

I'm on an iMac & this happens in both Safari & Chrome.

Please advise. Thanks!

Hi Marcia,

I am mainly using safari for iPad and have to say I experienced strange behaviors these last days. Since a few days, if I create a pin by directly pasting the zazzle link, Pinterest does not give me the pictures to choose anymore. I guess some changes often occur at Pinterest. However for your specific pin above, you can see hereafter that there’s a big button Visit  that drives to your zazzle product. No other parts of the pin drives to your  product, but I think it’s really visible and user-friendly to have an action button like this, making easier for a potential customer to go to your product, so no big deal with that from safari on iPad I think.IMG_9413.jpeg

Marcia
Valued Contributor III

@Fantabuloustef That's so weird! I don't have that visit button at all! Either on Chrome or Safari. What I'm seeing is what I posted above. I'm on an imac. But if other people are seeing that then I guess it's not a problem?

I suppose I should just make manual pins but they take too long & I'm lazy...or just trying to catch up making new products, optimizing old ones, mockup photos, etc...not enough time in the day!

halamanh
New Contributor III

you're right. There is no visit button and everything is not the same before Pinterest share error happened. Everything is going down to the hill and I just wait to someone talk about it cause they all say it is ok. Thank you

When you hover over the image, don't you get a little button to visit zazzle, which goes to the product page? This is what I see on the image for the Zazzle pin that J32Design posted.

Marcia

@Connie yeah, it's the same for me as well. But there's still no title underneath on the board before I click. Which can't be good for possible customers looking at it. 🤔

Hey @Marcia,

Thank you for the example. I have passed this information on to the team.

This is a pin I created, not one I shared directly.

After I create a pin, if it looks like this, people are going to buy it, and Pinterest views will increase. But if it doesn't look like this, no one will buy it, and Pinterest views won't go up. Now, some products don't even have a 'Visit' button to click.

Can you please fix it back to how it was before the Pinterest share issue happened? I would really appreciate it if the team could address this, because it's been a week and it feels like nobody cares about the problem. I thought it was just my issue and things would go back to normal, but it's still the same. Thank you so much!

Could you please check this out? It’s hard for customers to buy when some products don’t have the 'Visit' button. While not all products are affected, it’s still a problem. I’d really appreciate it if you could restore things to how they were before. It’s been exhausting dealing with this. If this is a new change, it’s a bit concerning. Thank you so much for your help!1000020306.jpg

Not a Mod here but ... this is the Tech forum so you might get further with your concerns if you included more information about what the issue is exactly for you, just screenshots with no explanations is kind of mystifying.

1) include a link to a pin that exhibits the behavior you believe is problematic
2) state how you made the pin (manually, using the Zazzle share button, using Pinterest's browser add-on ...?)
3) tell what your screenshot is of. Is it the view from a computer (which browser?), an iPad or other tablet, a mobile device ...?
4) Are you logged into Pinterest as the pin owner in these views?

I went to your Pinterest, Created tab, and then the Christmas Wrapping Ideas board as it shows as most recently updated (as of 5 minutes ago). I can see you're pinning everything twice, once manually and once through some automatic means. Like this pin (manual) and this pin (automatic).

The manual pins are all this same format:

Pin-Designer.jpg

While the auto pins are all this same format:

Pin-Zazzle.jpg

The differences in format are self-evident, but what most intrigued me is that for the auto pins, the page title as shown in the browser tab is just "pin page". Also interesting that despite being the same visual image and same link out, the More to Explore recommendations under them are different, and the boards it suggests I save it to are different.

Browsing around Pinterest randomly viewing Zazzle product pins, there's a lot of variation. Some have a price on them + a "Visit Site" button; some say "visit site to see price"; a few have a plain "Visit" button; many look like the above two examples. (All of them though give you the zazzle.com button to go to the product when you mouse-over the image.) As far as that plain 'Visit" button, the lack of which seems to be your main concern?, that's part of Pinterest's interface and I really don't think Zazzle can do anything about things like that. I think through use of meta / OG meta tags on their pages, Zazzle has limited control over the image, title and description pulled by Pinterest and whether it'll be a "shopping" pin or not, but I don't think they can control how Pinterest formats that info on their end or how they stylize pins.

Thank you for your time. I don't know much about how all this stuff works; I just know it's not the same as it was before, and that has me confused. But if they think it's okay, then it's okay. This is something beyond my control in business. Most people use Pinterest on their phones, and after the Pinterest Share issue happened, I noticed some changes. I just think it might be affecting the business.

I care about the business and how people perceive it, not about how much I need to know about technology. But if it's not a big issue and doesn’t affect the business, then it's okay. If it's not something to be concerned about, there's no need to keep discussing it. Thank you.

Well, I have egg on my face. My above screenshots & random browsing of Pinterest was from a Windows computer, Firefox browser, logged into the US Pinterest domain.

I meant to note that at the end of my post and then forgot to do so after I added the links.
