products not moving to departments

I assume I need to start a new thread with my issue? Old posts are not being migrated to the new platform?

Products are not moving to their departments. Is there an ETA when this will get fixed?

TIA

Made a few updates, but it may take a few days for all of the changes to be reflected on the site.

Has anyone had products moved into their proper departments yet? None of mine have moved after several days. I can be patient, just hoping someone is experiencing this fix so I know it's about to happen for me.

Same for me, no products moving in their departments (on the backend) 😭.

If you're still experiencing this issue can you please link us to a few affected products?

If it helps, I made two products this morning and they both are in the proper department, so the issue does seem to be resolved for new creations. But everything from the past 2 months still haven't moved. I also tried editing those, sometimes that helps, but it didn't help this time.

My experience is that when you create a product it is in it's department but only for a few hours. After a few hours the product is removed from it's department ... forever.

Wow!!! You're right! Those products are now not sorting into their departments!

for the first time, im new still, i started making categories with products for my public store

****IMPORTANT****

i did notice that all the bags from my post directly above this post, that are in the proper bag sections, crossbody or tote bag, were before 2022. anything from 2021 shows up properly, but the products from 2022 do not

A short list of Product IDs would be ideal. Maybe 5-10 would be sufficient.

@Scott

With all of the changes going on, my question in the thread you locked was more of a policy issue.  But, as you referred me here:  It's my last 500 products or so beginning with Product ID: 256796022774896029, Created on: 1/15/2022, 7:25 PM in my St. George and the Dragon (Nuremberg) series.

@Scott

Many thanks!  As of 11:08 p.m. EST, all 505 of the items I created since 15 January 2022 have sorted themselves into the appropriate Department categories.  What a relief!

Happy to hear that. We took another look at this today and made some updates which we believe will help. My test products are all good, and it sounds like Saints_Aplenty's products are, too.

If you've posted in this discussion we'd love to hear from you. Are you still experiencing issues? If so, please link us to the product that is affected as well as the department that the product was moved to. Or let us know that everything is all fixed.

Hip hip hooray 😍😍

Everything has return to normal for me. Thanks a lot to Scott and Zazzle technical team.

I am having the same problem, I list an item and it does not show up in its category. This is so discouraging. I am using words that Zazzle recommends and that they use in search. My store is Rosie Foshee Fine Art.

I've set up categories for my items, and changed the "set store category" in the EDIT DETAILS area, but my items are only showing up in the "new products" category and no where else. My other categories are empty, even though I went through all of my items and assigned them a category other than "new products". What am I doing wrong??

having the same issues still. Found Zazzle is not user-friendly in a way that it is confusing the way how it is structured.

Products are once again not showing up properly. Backend claims I only have 6 Easter baby shirts when this is clearly incorrect. Cannot get the right number of items to come up when searching by department

I am cleaning my store, adding categories , moving products, but the products aren’t showing in their new categories and the new categories aren’t showing either, so no products in there. When I go to the category specifications from my product, the new category is showing! Please help!

I am having this same issue (again). All products are not showing up in backend search (only a small selection). Products are also not landing in their respective departments in the store backend

I'm having similar issues -- I recently moved my products into new categories, but when I click on the category name, no products are there. It says, "Sorry, no products found."  My store is silverbell_designs.

Also, from the "public storefront," when I click on a category, it goes to a screen that says "Something went wrong. 404."

I'm having the same issue with my shop. I'm creating a 'QPC' Template but the template products are not reflected to the categories. Does it take months to reflect?

This conversation about departments has apparently become a conversation about categories...

First off, moving products between departments is still working, correct?

Secondly, let's talk about products not moving to new categories in this other discussion: https://community.zazzle.com/t5/technical-issues/products-not-showing-in-their-categories/m-p/19819

Hi Scott

Departments is still not working properly for me. One example would be that Easter baby shirts created around Christmastime are not showing up in the baby category. Also when I search for foil invitations, a few items come up that were created when foil invitations were first launched. Nothing else comes up under this department

I am referring to this store search and these departments in store back end

"One example would be that Easter baby shirts created around Christmastime are not showing up in the baby category." Can you provide example products so that I can take a look? I'm guessing here, but it seems possible that those products are located in the "Clothing and Shoes" department rather than the "Baby and Kids" department.

Same goes with the question about foil - examples would be helpful here.

Harmony
Valued Contributor

what i am searching for is "easter baby shirts" and only a small selection of overall products come up.

Searching for "foil invitation" only shows 13 results

I am still not getting proper department search results but my posts keep getting buried by posters talking about categories. Any idea when the search and departments issue might be addressed?

Hi,

Items in one of my categories show on the backend when I go to public profile it says "Something went wrong.

404".

Store is  https://www.zazzle.com/store/marisuvalencia

Thank you in advance.

I am not sure how this fix is progressing, but I just tried to follow a tutorial on how to create a category and move some products there and it's still not working. The categories remain empty after multiple attempts to add products using different methods. I tried several suggested workarounds, including assigning the category from the product page and no matter what I do the category is still empty.

I still have numerous items not showing up in backend department search

I have the same problem: I edit products to be moved in different categories and yet they don't appear in those categories.

this is about backend departments, not categories

Hi Scott / Marc, I am still noticing an issue probably related to this - when using the "search this store bar" only a few items show up from a particular department - f.i. when searching my store for magnetic picture frames only 1 shows up: " https://www.zazzle.com/z/a3dev0x7?rf=238731775801296307

When searching in the department dropdown menu

> Home & living

> Home Decor

> frames & displays

> Picture Frames

Many more show up. f.i.:

https://www.zazzle.com/z/ar15ba42?rf=238731775801296307

https://www.zazzle.com/z/aiixnu87?rf=238731775801296307

https://www.zazzle.com/z/aksdqyf1?rf=238731775801296307

I am not sure this ONLY happens on the backend or for customers as well (that would be really terrible) , but for us designers it is hard to work this way. Esp. since finding the right department can sometimes be difficult, or items are divided over 2 departments, like stationary (can be found in either invitations & stationary OR Kids stationary) or stickers ( Crafts & Party Supplies OR Kids stationary), many more examples like post-it notes, notebooks etc. This way it is hard to oversee ALL products of a specific type - like stickers.

Esp. in promoting, a search for a particular item you KNOW is in your store SOMEWHERE can take ages.

Not a native speaker, so i hope i have explained myself well?!

Hope you wil look into this.

Kind wishes from Holland
