Yellow warning sign on business cards

Hello!

I'm having a problem since yesterday with business cards, mini and normal sizes.

Most of my products, very recent ones seem to be OK, somewhat older ones not so much. A yellow warning sign shows especially for the mini sizes but sometimes for the regular ones and no matter what I do the sign comes back, it shows only when trying to customize the cards (?) I was editing for a friend of mine who wanted one of my cards when I noticed that yellow warning!

The third picture with a lace corner, features one design who did not trigger-that sign even though it shows the same original size as the others!

Thanks for your help. 😔zazzlewarning.jpgzazzleminicard.jpgzazzlemini2.jpg

Before trying to make new ones or re-introduce some of the affected cards, I'd like to make sure it is not a glitch.

I'm adding 3 screen shots showing that warning but many others show it too.

If you mouse over the yellow warning sign a message will pop up telling you what the problem is. Usually it means that your image resolution is too low, and you need to either upload a bigger version or shrink the one you're using.

Hi Cat!

The yellow warning sign indeed reads: "Your product may show unexpected borders, extend the image to the red border or move it inside the green" which it is, what threw me off is that it does no show any warning unless the product is edited. My third screenshot shows a larger image with no warning sign (?)

I'll probably will have to redo a few in the end.

Thanks for your answer.

Yeah... it looks like they've changed something in terms of issuing warnings for artwork that extends beyond the bleed - even if it's only the transparent part of the png that does! I started a new thread to see if we can get more info (Are Designs where Text or Image Intentionally Blee... - Zazzle) but it looks like those warnings only appear for the designer, not the customer.

One thing you could do in the meantime (for new designs anyhow) is to crop or mask the image at the red bleed line - I think that would make the warning to away.

What the yellow dot means is your image or text is too close to the red line and will leave a border if cut off.  I am so frustrated with this problem making invitations.  The image has to be me too small or within the green lines and then sometimes the yellow dot appears.  I have old old products that are fine for printing, but this new problem takes the cake

@DiamondWillow  Oh my! I see what you mean. I'm now getting the yellow warning on images that are intended to bleed off the edge. Hmmm... I suppose if they just want to warn us that's fine, but if they're going to start disallowing images that bleed off the edge, that's a HUGE problem!

To me the problem is that if a customer sees this warning they will think there is a problem and buy something else!

Exactly!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your patience while we got a chance to post about this addition. You might have seen our reply in another thread, but here is the announcement with some clarification. 😊 You can check out the announcement, here

I get the purpose of the warning, but I would strongly request that the color of the warning be different from the other image quality one, and also to give it a nicer way of wording it.  Something like 'the design may be intentional, but double check'.  As it is worded now, if I was a customer, I would think the product is going to be printed incorrectly, and I would not order it out of fear.  I've been hearing the same from other creators as well who are not on this forum.

My concern is that the customer will hesitate to buy the product because of the warning. I would hesitant if I were a customer.

Customers don't see the warning - it's only for the designer.

I see it now.  So basically they have to start from a 'create your own' to get the warning.  I think they could have clarified that better to be honest.

If that is the case I missed! it1 There is a huge space between some of my images and a customer has to use the fill option and even then a few still do work!

I  feel the same way, I made the decision to redo some business cards and left many of my really old ones intact (some of us have been with Zazzle since the very beginning)  because I assume we lose our rank somewhere especially with this new algorithm! 🤔

Are there any guides for what dimensions to use for standard business cards? I downloaded the template from Help in the Zazzle Designer, which only provided a PDF. When I imported it into GIMP to do my design, it was only 375 x 225px. So once I'd finished getting it into Zazzle, it was very blurry (ie too small).

I've just tried another one at 300ppi x standard size (3.5 x 2 inch) - so 1050 x 600 px, and when I put that into Zazzle, it looks fine when I have the yellow warning. But if I correct the size to extend to the red bleed box, it cuts off part of the design. And if I shrink to fit the green box, it look a bit silly as it then has a giant border around it.

I guess I'm looking for a guide in pixels that includes the 3.5x2 inch card PLUS extra outer padding for the bleed.

Any ideas? I don't normally do many business cards. These are only for my own use, so there will be no problems re customers needing to customize anything.

Thanks!
