With the introduction of Zazzle’s marketing fees in April, many of us began reevaluating what our creative work is truly worth. I tried to offset those costs by raising my royalty rate hoping it would balance the equation without disrupting sales. Instead, my sales plummeted. I assumed shoppers were passing over my now higher-priced products in favor of similar designs at lower price points. Longtime gift shop buyers who used to stock my cards and tissue paper disappeared. Then in June I lowered the royalty on my most popular items, and soon after, the orders returned. Did I discover my “sweet spot”? Not quite. What I found was my long-lost repeat customers and while selling to them again brings joy, earning significantly less for the work I’ve poured my heart into remains discouraging. So now I’m curious: Have you adjusted your royalty rate to accommodate the marketing fees? Did it affect your visibility or sales? How do you strike that balance between pricing with integrity and staying competitive? Let’s talk about what’s working, what’s not.

I recently worked with a woman on making shirts, hoodies and the such for her lakeside community. I thought I did everything right to get the referral but Zazzle says NO. (Her first order I sent her the links and I did get the referrals). So she spent 1300 on her most recent order and then $250 and there was another 2 orders before that. I got zip, nothing , not a dman thing other then the 10% that is not it is less.. She knows to click the links for me to get the referal. Also no need to point out her email has one last name and her credit card probably has her married name. I know it is her as it is a very specific order and she tells me every time she places an order. So the order before this one was not as large but a good sized order. I called Zazzle I spoke with them I showed them the emails proving I gave her the links the whole thread. The nice guy I spoke to said he would pass this along up the chain. I was in tears and very upset. I asked him if I did anything wrong on my end as I had made a previous phone call to make sure I was doing everything right as it has been a long time since I had done this and I was also working up to do pinterest ( yeah I know I have done pinterest and it has never worked for me, but I did restart two weeks ago) So here is there response to the first WTF happened Okay so that was interesting. So what do you think I stupidly did after that? Yep I got upset at the customer asking her why should could not just do that one thing click the link! I also explained how we get paid the whole nine yards. Oh and guilt trip in also. Yep I am a charmer. So when she placed her next order she would maybe follow those instructions but guess what of course she already placed her next order as she was just jumping up and down to do so! During this though I had also given her in this letter all the links to every product I had created for her because I figured screw it here you go I just do not want to deal with you anymore but I have done my part. Those went through and here is an image of that Do you see referral with it coming from one order of $1300 and another of $250?I do not. So I inform the customer I got nothin once again. So I am furious and figure I need to talk to Zazzle once again. So instead of crying I am of course now yelling and crying and apologizing to the poor man as all he does for Zazzle as customer support and it is not his fault but explaining I am mad... some days I am just too bloody Canadian. So of course I am also asking what am I doing wrong.? I tell him what I do. I say I go to the product I click the share button and I copy paste the "link" Simple right? So he goes and looks then says where is your referral number have your registered? WTF? so he goes and looks and yes of course I have the ambassador referral stuff, yes of course. So he tells me the number is not there. WTF? again He says there should be a ?ref= then my number. SERIOUSLY! I asked back in April to the first person and she said oh Zazzle knows there are no worries everything is there. It all just happens and Zazzle magically knows So my question to all of you is should there be a ?ref= in that link. ??????? ( above pic)I f so why did no one pick that up before at Zazzle and considering I am new to this WHY am I paying for it and also okay another pic. Please ignore my horrible spelling I spell horribly when I am angry. So if she went through all of this with a Zazzle employee and as I showed you with the previous links I made still no money. Please help and if the ref number is supposed to be there is it happening to anyone else and if it is can you please contact Zazzle and let them know.

In the last month, I've noticed that my new products have about 10, some even 20 views and I should actually be happy, but the thing is, this concerns products that I just published, they are not visible in my store, not visible in any collection, not yet visible in the Zazzle search engine, 0 views on Pinterest, but a lot of views in store management. How is that possible? Someone would have to log into my account to see them, or be a Zazzle employee. Do you also experience this, because I haven't had such situations before, but it's happening very often for the last month. This is a sample product, Created on: 7/11/2025, 1:47 PM - after few hours it had 8 view, should be happy, but it's steel not visible in my store, nor in Zazzle search https://www.zazzle.com/elegant_fall_wildflowers_floral_qr_code_wedding_invitation-256443693212381703

Referrals marked as "None" are being calculated wrong again since yesterday, as far as I can tell. I'm receiving the amount I would for a 3rd party sale. It's really hard to believe the same "labelling error" is happening again. As I said before, this goes against the policy that marketing fees would *not* be taken out if there is no marketing referral. For more information on what was happening before and Zazzle's "solved" response, see here: https://community.zazzle.com/t5/general-zazzle-discussion/wrong-final-amount-for-sale/td-p/209537/page/4

I just had a sale that was *not* referred but it still ended up with the percentage as if it had been referred by 3rd party. The final earnings were cut nearly in half as if it was 3rd party referred and not "None" like it was. Anyone else see this issue today? This was on an 80 invitation order.

Someone gave me a Zazzle-made acrylic tumbler as a gift. The print quality is great, and so is the quality of the tumbler. I use it every day. The only drawback is the tumblers have to be hand washed to preserve the printed design. But that’s really no biggie. I like this product so much that I’m considering creating a variety of designs to sell on them. But before I put in a lot of effort, I wanted to ask you all if you’ve successfully sold this product. So, what’s been your experience with selling acrylic tumblers? Thanks!!

I am concerned about a series of product listings on the platform that feature the phrase “86 47.” While some may view this as political satire, the broader public interpretation often reads as an incitement to harm the 47th President of the United States. As you may know, “86” is slang for “eliminate” or “get rid of,” and “47” is widely associated with President Trump. Together, this phrase is frequently understood as a coded message advocating violence—something that goes beyond humor and into territory that can incite hate. I understand that Zazzle values creative expression. However, allowing slogans that can be construed as violent undermines the spirit of respectful dialogue and inclusive marketplace ethics. This goes against Zazzle’s stated content guidelines prohibiting hate speech or threats of violence. I request that your team review these listings with this context in mind and consider their removal. Doing so would send a strong message that Zazzle prioritizes ethical standards and public safety over politicized messaging that can provoke real-world harm. (I searched 8647 and there are 6000+ products) Thank you for your attention and commitment to maintaining a respectful and responsible platform.

Why are the thermal insulated Wine Tumblers being referred to as Water Bottles in the item description? Is this an error? The same thing is happening with the larger Insulated Tumblers. I have given links to the items in question. https://www.zazzle.com/mocha_stylized_wedding_bridesmaid_name_thermal_wine_tumbler-256220379323760304 https://www.zazzle.com/mocha_stylized_wedding_bridesmaid_name_insulated_tumbler-256107323536945420

I just sold two items: stickers and matching business cards to someone who messaged me directly via Zazzle and to whom I sent a link to the products - yet both sales came through as third-party sales. How do you explain this when no third party was involved?

Has anyone else noticed that some of their product prices are incorrect? Some of my cards and other items are showing a purchase price of $17.64 per card. Not sure what’s going on with that. Just another glitch I assume.
