Designing for Christmas

Hi all,

I was wondering what product types you focus your energies on when designing for Christmas. Which products seem to sell best for you and are they all directly related to Christmas with Christmas themed designs? For me, some of my evergreen products do okay at Christmas and I'm never sure where to focus my energies.

I like to do wrapping paper, because I really enjoy making seamless patterns. I really enjoy doing Christmas designs, so I focus a lot on those, but whether that is sensible or not, I'm not sure. I do sell quite a bit of Christmas products, but hardly ever any evergreen products to use for gifts, so it's probably best to do some of each.

I really like creating Christmas cards for people to customize with their own photos, but realistically there's lots of competition there. So I also look to themes, hobbies and interests and try to put a Christmas twist on them. If you can think of a niche you like, and create products which combine it with Christmas, that could work. For example, if you're interested in soccer, you could design Christmas soccer balls, festive drawstring bags, soccer cartoon Christmas cards etc.

I hope you're all doing well! I’ve been brainstorming ideas for Christmas-themed products to work on, and I’m curious about what you all find to be the most popular and best-selling items during this season. From what I’ve researched, ceramic mugs and Christmas wrapping paper seem to be top choices for customers, as they’re practical, festive, and make great gifts.

Do you agree with this? Are there other Christmas products that consistently perform well for you, or perhaps even evergreen designs that sell during this time? I’d love to hear your insights to help guide my creative direction for the holidays.
