Could you come up with a better name? All over print maybe? Honestly I hadn't even looked at these products because from the name I thought these were kits that people had to assemble and sew themselves in order to make the bag - especially "dopp kit" - it sounds like you're buying a kit to make a bag, so I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to buy them! Anyhow, I'm glad that "print, cut, sew" doesn't get appended to the product name because I think that would really confuse people - but I do have to say that I think both "sling bag" and "dopp kit" are very confusing names - they certainly confused me!

I thought "sling bag" was a pretty common/generic type of bag, but Dopp Kit? Never heard of that before so was also puzzled about how it related to the product. Googling it it appears to be an interchangeable term for "toiletry bag'. But it's actually also a brand. Sort of the same situation as Kleenex/tissue or Onesie/baby body suit. Here's a nice little blog article about Dopp kits. But that raised red flags about trademark names so I Googled that and while it seems Samsonite's trademark to the name is "abandoned", the Buxton company still has a live one for "dopp kit" used with toiletry bag type products. I'm just an armchair Googler who likes to learn things so I could totally be wrong about this, but seems to me that unless these blank bags are being procured via the Buxton co and using the Dopp kit brand name with their permission, this terminology will soon be pulled from the Z website and be dis-allowed in tags.

@ColsCreations Well, I'm glad others have heard the term "sling bag" - honestly, I've never seen a bag like that before. It looks like a backpack with only one strap. It could be that I just live under a cabbage leaf!
Well anyhow, there's also an issue with the name "fanny pack." For Americans it's probably the best term to use, but in certain English speaking countries the word "fanny" means something COMPLETELY different and it's considered quite obscene. But I suppose that's not a battle worth fighting. The same is true of "corn hole" - I find that term so offensive that I haven't been able to bring myself to design any! (There's one you can practice your Googling skills on! 😲)

LOL. I feel the same about that game name though. I'd never heard of it until maybe 8-9 years ago and was like, uhm, what?
And "fanny pack" even in its most innocent is still an awful name for a product as it's not appealing to men and also doesn't even describe its most common use which is to wear it in the front for easy access and security.
I am only familiar with "sling bag" because of the many quests to find my own perfect "purse" and this style would always come up even though it's not a style I was interested in.

@James I just created a duffle bag with stripes. I copy-pasted the front to the back, but the stripes do NOT line up! What to do? Do I trust that with copy-paste design will eventually line up, or do I trust the preview and try to "eye it"... which is VERY hard btw.

Before we make more products that the customer would eventually be dissapointed in, can the team please respond to our design questions? 🙏
Thanks

You have to horizontally flip the Back image. (Or flip the front - whatever - they just have to be opposite)
Here's your bag with the stripes perfectly lined up after I flipped the Back image.
https://www.zazzle.com/z/8xg94hrm
You can see it also makes them line up along the top across the zipper.
EDIT: Looking more closely I think it lines up better across the zipper in your published version. But knowing how it goes together as shown below I'm sure it's possible to make both "seams" work.
This is the first bag I did and figured this out on, trying to make the bottom seam match up like a seamless tile.
In this image, the top half is the Front and how it shows in the Design Tool.
The bottom half is the Back (where I horizontally flipped the image in the Design Tool) but here I have it turned upside down from how it displays in the Design Tool, so you can visualize how it goes together. If you were to fold this composite image, the middle where the text is becomes the bottom of the bag, and the very top and bottom edges become the top of the bag that meet across the zipper.
So when working on the Back layer, it seems upside down (look at my Back layer in the Design Tool) so you have to visualize how it all comes together.

Here is the first duffel bag I did with lines that align on top (zipper) and bottom. @ColsCreations is right you have to flip one side to make image meet properly.
Duffel Bag - Blue Stripes on Diagonal by bkmuir Blue lines in varying five shades Dark to light, bottom to top. Two Sets of stripes are placed diagonally, meeting at the center of top and bottom of bag. End panels are the darkest shade of blue. |

I find the name print cut and sew confusing. It looks like a backpack but the name print cut and sew makes me feel like you are going to send me a bunch of fabric and I have to get out my sewing machine and somehow turn it into a backback with my limited sewing skills.

I agree! And "All Over Print" is not trademarked in the US, so I don't know why they wouldn't use it. There is a dead/abandoned "All Over Print" so maybe that is it.
Or maybe trademarked in another large market.

Hello,
I have really had fun creating for the accessory pouches and dopp bags so far (p.s. I agree with others below...I had never heard the term. I also noticed that the word is favored in the tags so I decided to use it in some entries, but I really don't think it's how people will be searching.)
My concern I've noticed so far is in the actual searching for these products. When I try to look up accessory bags as a search term, I end up with results that include a ton of phone cases and other products rather than the actual accessory pouches I'm trying to find. For a new product, I worry that it will be quite hard for shoppers, perhaps even experienced Zazzle customers, to realize the product is even being offered as it is buried in the results.
That being said, I think these are a fantastic add to the lineup, and I'm excited to continue designing them.

(p.s. I agree with others below...I had never heard the term [dopp kit]. I also noticed that the word is favored in the tags so I decided to use it in some entries, but I really don't think it's how people will be searching.)
Dopp Kit is actually a trademarked brand owned by Buxton. If you Google for dopp kits you'll find all kinds of toiletry bags for sale. Some have a label on the outside of the bag that shows it's an actual Dopp Kit brand bag by Buxton. Some have labels with other names or no labels at all on them, so maybe the sellers are using 'dopp kit" in the generic sense like how people use Kleenex for any facial tissue. Or maybe Buxton sells them wholesale and lets the buyer re-brand them as their own. I have no idea. I found what appears to be this exact same blank white toiletry bag on a POD supplier site and their description says "This iconic Dopp Kit travel bag" while Z's says "This iconic travel bag" but they don't mention Buxton either.
The description on the Z product pages doesn't mention anything about it being a Buxton product and the "will be made by" says Zazzle Apparel. I don't believe that Z would accidentally be using a trademarked brand name without rights to it but it would be great if a Mod could explain what this bag is so Creators can confidently tag & promote these as actual Dopp Kits.

For the Sling Bag, the 'back' is really the FRONT sections, above and below the pocket. It's REALLY hard to line up patterns in each of the sections, since they're all in different sizes on the design tool layouts. It would be great if each section in the design tool was the same in relation to the size of the completed product.

The accessory pouches (which is what they are referred to as and auto-titled on the product pages as) are missing from the nav menus. You can find them on the site map under Accessories - Cosmetics & Toiletry Bags, but there is no way to find them from the Home page or Shop page.
Thinking ahead, when these get added to the cat menus it would be great if there were more than one cat option to publish them at. "Cosmetic & Toiletry Bags" doesn't work for "pencil pouches" designed for kids to take to school. it would be nice if we could list them as
Bags --> Cosmetic & Toiletry Bags
or
Bags --> Accessory Pouches
or
Office & School Supply --> Pencil Pouches

I ordered (a large) zipper bag. *sigh* It was printed with a black instead of a white background, so I couldn't read the text I put on it. This means there's no quality control, so somebody should maybe work on that *eyeroll* Yes, I've already ordered a reprint. Other than that - the bag is pretty basic, but it's all serge-seamed on the inside and the zipper is actually solid.

Hello,
I just started my second dopp kit, and this uses a pattern with a horizontal line element.
Here's the challenge I've noticed:
On the front preview, it looks like the line rises to the right (it doesn't). The side view of the front shows it is indeed level, but with a skewed view from the front, I think customers may shy away if they notice the rise.
When I considered this logically, I'm sure the fabric is not pulled taut in all directions, which maybe makes it seem like it isn't level?
I'll try to return with some photos. I tried with several horizontal elements.

Hello! I received my first pouch in hand today. I love the colors, and the zipper and quality of the fabric and print are great.
I have one big disappointment, however. On the back, the circle with the initial in the bottom right corner is tucked into the seam on the bottom of the bag. I double-checked my design today to ensure I was in the print-safe area, and I was by about 2 pica (or boxes, if pica aren't the measurement here...I'm not sure). I also checked because it was a small pouch, but it is indeed well in the lines on both pouches.
Here is the pouch for reference: https://www.zazzle.com/modern_mothers_day_trendy_toiletry_bag-256958676586168499
I will take a photo with my phone and upload soon, too.
I am wondering if this is a trend? If so, maybe the guides should be moved further inward? I am a little disappointed because it is a Mother's Day gift (I created the collection and ton of bags for this holiday even though Zazzle wasn't suggesting it. 🙂 ) I know my mother-in-law won't care because she's awesome and easy going about such things (I know I'm lucky. lol ), but it bothers me.
Overall, I think they're a great product, but I'm concerned I will need to go into several of my designs and edit and reupload, which is a bummer because I've had views (a whole bunch on one of the products!) and a few sales.
Any help or feedback on how to proceed would be awesome. I am unable to just move things on the current designs because I am only a Pro and don't have that option.
Thank you,
Amanda

@James, I was wondering if you have any suggestions for me. Today I have been looking at my accessory bags I've created, and almost every single design has an element that is approximately the same distance from the margins (inside the print-safe area) as this one. I am very concerned about how to proceed.
I currently have another bag with a different design that should be arriving soon. I am worried that it, too, will have this problem.
Thank you so much in advance.

UPDATE: I spoke with someone in customer service, and she believes it's a printing error and not a mass problem for panic! lol PHEW. I have 43 other bags that all have elements about the same distance inside the print-safe area. 😥
She is going to verify with the team that it is indeed a printing error. I will post here again once this info is confirmed. I figure other designers may like the info as well.

Hello again! I received another pouch today (a different one I ordered) that has a similar amount of space between the words and the "safe-print" area and it is FINE! I am relieved! lol
I haven't heard back from my rep from yesterday, so I may follow up, but the second bag arriving without the problem is comforting. I have a third one coming soon too. 🙂 Hopefully it confirms this assessment.
I have a question: I have two pouches in my possession now (one large and one small, two designs). I was going to do a YouTube video review on the pouches so creators could "see" them. Is that OK to link here? I wasn't sure. I just see an option to add photos.

Hello! I have just uploaded an indepth review of the accessory pouch on my YouTube channel. It is my first Zazzle video, but I hope to create some more if people find it useful.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUSKgFq_TAE
The video includes three things:
1. The review of the product
2. A really important caution for creators (if you've read my posts above, you likely know what this is going to be)
3. What I'm going to do moving forward as I create for this product, and a few suggestions I hope Zazzle will check out. lol. 🙂 @James
Also, @ColsCreations , you are mentioned in the video and I also link to your store! Hope that's OK! 😄

THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to create such a thorough, well organized review, Amanda. Excellent recommendation on an inside fabric/material that can be cleaned. And you have such a pleasant voice for this. The entire video is very helpful.
I don’t have a G account so I can’t leave this comment on the YT video thus my comment here. Thanks again.

Thank you for replying here on the forums! I really appreciate the feedback, and the positive comments are really lifting me up and energizing me on this rainy day! 🙂
I am glad you liked my suggestion to make them wipeable, and I'm impressed you made it that far into the video if I'm being honest. LOL I was really concerned people were not going to watch much, wondering, "Who the heck is this woman and why should I listen to her for almost 20 minutes?" 😂
Thanks as well for the compliment on my voice. I'm definitely not one of the super energized YouTubers I sometimes see being so successful, but I try not to be too dry.
I definitely appreciate your time in both watching the video and replying here. Thank you again.
