How do I delete a post?

I found the answer to my question about how to reply, but now can't delete my post with that question.

But I'm still trying to get an answer to how to move categories around in my storefront.  Thanks.

Apparently some people misused the delete and edit functions a few years ago, so now none of us are able to delete. You can edit a post for a very short time period. That's the only privilege afforded to forum users who wish to keep things neat and tidy.

I also do Postcrossing!

You can't... If you've started a thread, so far as I know at least, there's no way to delete it. Only a moderator has that ability. The only thing you can do is delete the content. I'm pretty sure you can't even alter the title.

@imeanit

After you cllick on the post button, you have a few minutes to edit your post or your reply. Maybe 30 min? Top right of a ost, downpointing caret, hold down on it, and you will see edit reply. But once the "edit reply" drop down is no longer available, you can't delete your post or anything in it.

Amended my post: ....once the "edit reply" drop down is no longer available, you can't delete any part of your post. (You can't delete your post during the edit reply time, but you can delete what's in the post during the edit reply time, and write "deleted", that's doable.

Yup, I was able to edit, but there was no delete option.
