How to get customer reviews

Hey, everyone. So as far as I understand, customer reviews play a role in your ranking and reach. Are there any tips on receiving your first reviews or increasing their number?

Hi, FireSparks!

I've been on Zazzle for a little over a year and for me, the best way to get reviews is to ask for them. Of course, this is only the case when you have the opportunity to converse with the customer. Every chance I get I always ask customers to please leave a review once they've had the opportunity to receive and experience the product. I have a total of 34 reviews to date. Another tip is to go into your settings on your profile and customize the 'personal messages to your customers' section - this includes post-sale review request templates.

My assumption (based on little evidence, I should add) is that reviews are beneficial for your store, and for Zazzle as a whole, much like reviews for any other business. Reviews are content and keyword rich, which is an important driver for your products to sell.

Reviews are visible on the individual products. They may not show up for a consumer in your shop directly, but they do appear beneath the specific product listing in which you've received the review.

I hope this helps.

Thanks!

Do reviews play a role? Where is this written?

I also do Postcrossing!

I would think if customers are looking for a particular product and see reviews of sold similar products that could definately result in sales which could in turn increase your Zazzle rank .Having said that it is a long time since I have seen reviews of sold products. avaialble to view via our own strore but not for public viewing. Call me out if it is different for your shop!

I have never read anywhere that reviews have anything to do with rank for reach

Where does one find all of your notifications?  I'm trying to find which products had reviews as some reviews don't show up in the shop directly.  Thank you.

Within your store, if you've received reviews you would see them under the tab 'Reviews'.  See below:

If you open up the product and scroll near the bottom of the page, you'll see that review on the actual consumer facing product page - customers have the option of toggling between 'This Design' and 'Other Designs' within the same product type:

Based on the keywords used in the review, it could lead more people to finding the product due to those keyword insertions.

That's the thing, though.  Under reviews, all the reviews don't show up.  Under the notification bell, it states I got reviews.  But when I click "Reviews", they are not there.  I had other things to do so I waited to click on the reviews under the notification bell, but they disappeared as more notifications came after them.

Do you know how to access all of one's reviews?

@whimsywhim

I think it depends on which domain the reviews are left on.

You can only see .com reviews on the .com site but if you log in to an international domain (eg .co.uk) you may see reviews there too (but they won't be able to be seen on the .com)

There's no way of seeing all your reviews from the different domains in one place and that's the way it's always been unfortunately

Thanks for responding.  Darn.  I had wished it was different.

Customers can't see reviews on our stores or profiles only reviews we've left?

  • How does one ask a customer for a review? How do you even communicate with them unless they message you first? And when do the automated messages get sent to them?

Hi Perelandrian,

It's few and far between. When you do get the chance to converse with them through chat, it's always a great opportunity to ask. Otherwise, personalizing the automated messages is the best bet. Let the customers know that it means a great deal to you and your shops growth. I don't know the exact schedule for when they get sent, but my assumption is that it follows post-delivery confirmation.

Thank you!
