I am in the UK so how would I know if my W8ben form is still valid?
Do Zazzle let you know when it expires? Do they carry on paying but withhold tax? If they are withholding tax, how would I know?
Puzzled from Britain.😁

@Martin They normally send an email to let you know it's expired. They have done so in the past.
You'd still get paid if it had expired (if you have reached the payment threshold) but they would deduct 30% from it before it reaches you.

Hi Sara, so there is no official statement from Zazzle indicating the rate that was withheld?

@ana_garza The withholding rate varies and it depends on the country you are in and whether they have a tax treaty with the US. https://taxsummaries.pwc.com/quick-charts/withholding-tax-wht-rates

Thank you so much! @Sara_H
My Country does have a treaty, but my concern is how I can prove what Zazzle has withheld? I need it to pay my taxes properly here. I did not receive anything from the US/IRS either. How can we know how much it is?

@ana_garza at the end of the financial year, you should receive a form from zazzle (1042 I think - I think I get mine in March) that states what you earned. You won't receive anything from the US/IRS unless you are an american citizen (am UK) I am not a tax professional
If you have not received that form for 2024 earnings - you need to contact zazzle directly (2025 earnings would be sent in early 2026 I think)
You can get a rough idea comparing what you earned verses what you received.

Thank you! That is what I thought. I did not receive anything from Zazzle in 2024. I did send an email, with no response. I will insist then.

@Sara_H Ahhh found it. Zazzle send a tax form (1042-S) and it's ALMOST entirely blank apart from a few details in small print at the top.
It appears all is good for 2024 which I received in April 2025. So I won't know until April 2026 if all was good in 2025. I haven't had an email saying it isn't so I assume all is good.😁

Thanks for jumping in here @Sara_H . I can confirm that if you have not submitted a W8 form within the last three years than it is now expired. I would advise sending a new updated form as soon as possible. Here's more information. Our team will also be able to confirm the tax rate you will be paying moving forward once you enter this process.
