Should I respond to - Hello, how you doing in chat?

I recently started putting Designs in Zazzle, I am a Designer at another place mostly - going to Design here more

I just started, it will be a learning process as here is a completely different place

I have started getting spam in my Chat - Which I promptly Block

Just like in my email - All I seem to do is * Block, Block - Blockety Block

Now they are asking * How are you doing?

I say * I am doing good or something

Then it is * Let me market your Designs - send me all your money

Should I simply Block vague messages?

Can you turn off Chat?

Time is worth Money and Life as you don't get more time

Wasting it going Block, Block Blockety Block all day 24/7 gets old

Customer either buys something or they don't

I wouldn't reply, customers never open with that 'line'

In Chat, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner of your screen.

This will pull up another screen called Details.

Click on the 3 dots to the right of the topmost chat participant's (sender's) name and select Block User.

Repeat the above step and select Report User.

I just got a suspicious chat request a few minutes ago from "a marketer with vast year's of experience", promising me the moon blah blah blah ... blocked right away.

I never ignore a potential customer. Sometimes they just say hI because they justifiably think it is a live messaging chat and they are confused why there is no answer. I explain it isn't and they come back in six hours still confused, but we work it out and I make a sale. Some times it turns out to be spam and I ignore them. It has never ben anything to worry about. Zazzle is becoming more interactive and I really enjoy it. I don't judge their opening line, because there are many customers who don't speak English as a first language. So their vocabulary doesn't sound right to my ears, but they are totally legit.

You can give your Zazzle store whatever tone and interaction that you wish. I use my real name, I tell them where I live and I am often online when they contact me and I answer right back. I have found the more I engage with Zazzle the more money I make.

I reply and ask what they need help with.  It's the next line that will tell you if they're legit or not....
