I'm not a fan of the banner. It just looks a bit internet 1.0 to me. Could we please get rid of it and just have the collections cover image with the layer like this or something similar? Or at least give us the option to display the page something like this when there is no banner added. I'd love to know how other designers feel about it or what sort of layout they'd like to have.

I'm not seeing any banner images?

I'm in favor of them not showing too meanwhile.

@CreativeLeahG you can't see the image I uploaded in my post? I see it there. It's not the banner though, I have a layout without the banner and have the collections cover image on the left of screen, the title, description, store name and share buttons to the right of the image and below all these are the collection products.  I'll put a link to the image below.

@sm yes I can see the image you posted here but I can't see 'banners' showing in any member collections, yours or mine. It might be a BETA test thing where only certain members and public can see it, while they carry out testing on conversions.

@CreativeLeahG they have always shown in public view on desktop devices. If you have a mobile device, once you are in a collection and in public view, you can see it in the browser by clicking the three dots on the top of the page and selecting 'desktop site'. But that is only if the designer has added a banner, of course.

I like the banner. I would be in favor of giving designers the option of which display format they want.

Allowing both options is a good idea. That way, individual designers can choose the layout they prefer.

I'm not a fan of the banners either. I used to make them for all my collections until I realized that my collections would still work without them. Knowing that they don't show on all devices makes them even less appealing to make. I would rather put more of my time into making better collection covers and product cover images. I like the suggestion above by sm. I also think that without the banners the page is cleaner and there is more emphasis on the products.

@Gail_K I agree, the page does look cleaner without it. I've stopped making them and will probably remove the ones that are there at some stage. They don't do anything other than take up lot of white space. They aren't Pinterest friendly. Google doesn't pick them up. They are dead space.

The collections in the marketplace looks pretty snazzy but store and profile page designs are left behind. I like the idea of grouping the products or the option to group them. It looks awesome on the product page. I have a feeling they'll do away with the banners eventually so I'll put more focus into the covers too.
