Disappearing Collections from the public store

Of my 22 collections, today only 17 are showing in my public store dropping from 18 yesterday - under the collections tab. The missing collections are all fairly new and they are still showing on the homepage and on the backend of the store. But if you click on "show all collections" or the collections tab at the top they disappear. They are set to public and I have read that this is an ongoing problem for several months. I will try the workaround of deleting a product and adding it back into the collection but really this bug should get fixed after 6 months. 

Any other help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your response. The work-around of deleting and adding a product back into the collections has fixed the issue for now. So, I don’t know if you can still see what caused the problem.

I think I organized the products into a different order in all the collections that were gone.  I just did this with another collection to see if that could be the trigger. Will update tomorrow on that.

I have one collection that just will not show unless I am logged in, so I now haven't made anymore new collections.

I tried the ''workaround of deleting a product and adding it back into the collection'' trick yesterday. It didn't work (it worked previously a few weeks back) so I've given up for now.

@LynnRose if it is one single collection, I would probably try to duplicate it with a similar name and see if that new one "sticks". I guess I would not delete the original one - unless it had no views and you have not promoted that link anywhere. As far as I can tell in my case the collections only didn't show in "all collections" but I think everything else was still working; for example if someone had the full link to the collection it could be opened.

I experimented further and kept each throw pillow at polyester, but changed the size to 20x20, all good, so it seems that if you choose 'zipperless' via product merchandising, it makes your collection disappear from showing up in 'All Collections'

@Pádraig  following on from yesterday: I just checked and changing the order of the products in one of my collections did not trigger that collection to disappear. So it may have been caused by something else.

Just wondering ... of those collections that are "missing" do product pages from items in those collections show the collection below the product image? If the collection is still showing, then I would not stop making collections (as this is the major reason I would create a collection - to link with similar products the buyer might be looking at).

Just  a thought.

I have just has a look at that as it's a good idea, thanks.
So, what I found is that, yes, when logged in and out on the .com site, I can see the collection link below the product image (the actual collection itself still doesn't show on the collection pages when logged out)
Choose an item from that collection, all good.
However, I checked on the UK site logged in and out - no collection shows below the image. 
So, I can see the products in the UK collection itself, but when I click on an individual item, I get the 'This product is unavailable due to one of the following reasons:' message.
(I had saved the .com url and changed .com to co.uk to be able to try this out incase you're wondering lol)
I think I will have to delete the collection and try again - but I already tried that a couple of weeks ago and it didn't work.

I have 'fixed'it

The throw pillows were set at Product Merchandising 20 x 20 zipperless. I changed them all to 16 x 16 polyester and the collection now shows on both .com and .uk

@BKMuir  I think the collection still showed below the individual product. For now at least I fixed it with the "delete a product and add it back into the collection" work-around.

Collections in  Store MgtCollections in Store MgtCollections in Public ViewCollections in Public View
This is currently the difference between my collections in Public View vs the full amount in Store Management. The amount in Public changes all the time but never has the complete list showing (even in Show All Collections). I HAVE checked to make sure there are sufficient products in each, they all have descriptions/header photos and are marked to show in the correct store.

Please Zazzle Techies, get this remedied already!
