Text Templates not working in Replaced Products

Products that I have added a personalize/customize text field to are posting without the text field being visible to customize.

Have you untoggled 'Allow editing on product page' accidentally? I'm always doing that

"allow editing on product page" is on. I keep checking that just in case. I have another greeting card that I've been trying to replace several times and have had this issue for a while. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong, but now I believe it's a glitch in the "replace" system.

It's definitely a glitch. I'll update a handful of products, then 15-minutes later they no longer show the waiting review text and I have to redo them. Some more than once.

This happens to me too, but I just leave them alone. It seems to take a few days for the system to catch up and then the changes are visible.

But I'm still having issues with newly added template fields posting without the template being customizable.

I have tried resubmitting several times now and I cannot get the text templates to work. Could someone from Zazzle please take a look and tell me if this is a technical issue or if I am doing something wrong? I have had text templates resubmitted in the past work so I'm unclear why these aren't working?

I'm having the same issue with this product: https://www.zazzle.com/saxophone_mug-168858145868671137

It's has a text template set so it can be edited by the customer. However, there's no personalize button. In spite of having sold before, I'm thinking I should just remake rather than replace it. I have a second mug still under review that I'm now concerned about. It might be best to not replace anything in need of text.

Hi all, 

So we dug into this a little more and have confirmed that adding template fields is not possible with the product edit/replace feature. This is exclusive to a first-time publish OR will require a re-publish of the product to take effect. Apologies this was not clarified sooner and thank you for keeping the conversations going so we could get to the bottom of this.

I'm have the same problems too. It appear on new types of products. This glitch was appears randomly on one type of product. At first time I simple pressed SELL button and publish my product and "personalize" button was appear after publishing. But when I was try to do this yesturday this method is no longer worked for me 😞

I too had a lot of older listings without personalization I was trying to update and noticed this too.  Just adding template objects and leaving them as text 1 the personalization does not stick when replacing the product.

I think I figured a sorta go around to this issue.... if you name the text boxes rather than just add them it does seem to accept it.  ie: Name instead of Text 1    Location rather than Text 2  etc 

Making other small changes like a font change can help too.  Then go ahead and Replace Product.  Now when it finally made the change a couple days when you go to open it it appears as if nothing happened.  The personalization drop down still does not appear?  BUT if you change the size of the invitation or the shape of the object magically the personalization pops onto the page and voila you can then click back to the original listing size/shape.  Now go to the personalization drop down and make needed wording changes.  You do not have to go into the edit tab at all.    

THE only problem is LOL how to get a customer to figure this out?  Hopefully they will play with the page and eventually the personalization prompt will appear.

I had only a few old products without text templates and that never sold, probably because they needed text. My solution was to delete all of them except one, which I thought deserved a second chance, so I remade it. It still hasn't sold, but there's hope. LOL
