How to be sure repeat patterns line up on socks?

Since the mock-up on socks only shows the product flat, I'm worried that certain repeat patterns aren't lining up as they should. Have any of you come up with tricks to ensure your design repeats works on socks?

Also - it would be SUPER helpful if there was a front and/or back view so we could at least see how the seam looks and attempt to line up the pattern manually.

The pictures there of the preview image vrs the actual printed sock (flat and being worn) should be helpful. With that design I used one single image w/ perfectly vertical stripes, mirror-tiled. The stripes make it easy to see how wonky things get in the foot part of the sock. I haven't published any more socks because without the requested previews, figuring out what the design would look like when worn is not something my brain can manage. 😕
